The Spice of Faith: Jesuits and the Arts and Emotions of ‘Accommodation’
The Institute of Advanced Studies and the Art Gallery of Western Australia are pleased to co-sponsor a special lecture series in conjunction with the Treasure Ships: Art in the Age of Spices exhibition. This lecture examines whether the Jesuits’ training and ‘way of proceeding’ rendered them especially receptive to different cultures, or encouraged them to see through others’ eyes.
